IWS - Center for Student Engagement, New Media Content Creator

Responsibilities:

  1. Assisting the Division of Student Affairs with the design of promotional materials, both in-print and digital format.
  2. Collaborating with internal departments to establish campaign objectives, complete assigned tasks, and identify and solve problems.
  3. Monitoring social media and metrics.
  4. Suggesting new ways to promote offerings and to reach students (current and perspective).
  5. An ability to utilize current and emerging social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, LinkedIn and Twitter.
  6. An eye for design and the ability to create visual content for social media that is innovative, elevated, and consistent in style and quality, while following University branding and guidelines.
  7. Must be good at multi-tasking with the ability to prioritize effectively, with minimal supervision.
  8. Complete Canva Design School training sessions, as necessary.
  9. Complete Hootsuite training courses and certificate training, as deemed necessary.

Preferred Skills:

  • Computer knowledge, i.e. Word, Excel, Social Media and New Technology.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong active listening abilities.
  • Written and verbal communication.
  • Willingness to learn new things.

Work Schedule:

The priority work schedule will vary depending on student availability.  

  • Sunday - Saturday: varies depending on workload

Additional Comments:

  • Must have experience with basic design (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) preferred; other services include Canva and Adobe Spark.
  • Maintain an overall 2.0 GPA.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Must be respectable, responsible and a positive role model.
  • The semester constitutes a term of employment: Fall and Spring semester.
  • Applicants can rollover from Fall to Spring, schedule permitting.
  • Attendants may be required to arrive to campus a few days before the start of each semester for staff training.
  • Feedback will be ongoing. If a situation arises that needs attention it will be addressed promptly and a timeline for desired change will be established.
