FWS - Student Success, What's Up Wednesday Program Leader - 21-22

Members of the What's up Wednesday (WuW) planning team are responsible for assisting the Center for Student Success and the Office of Student Activities and Leadership Development in programming the WuW's throughout the academic year. This job will require the planning and communication of events, the supervision of events, including the students in attendance and equipment owned by the University, and aiding in general operations. The WuW planning team meets weekly as a collective group and operates independently to complete tasks. This position is supervised jointly by the Director of the Center for Student Success and the Director of Student Activities and Leadership Development. The WuW planning team must be able to follow directions and perform the duties assigned in a friendly and firm manner while communicating with the supervisors if assistance is needed.

Responsibilities: 1. Manage weekly operations of the WuW planning team. 2. Maintain budgets, update social media content, and events on Presence, assist with setup and teardown and do general research and surveys that engage the student population. 3. Attend all WuW planning meetings to develop and coordinate all event plans. 4. Assist in distributing marketing materials throughout campus. 5. Report problems with equipment in a prompt manner. 6. Track attendance and calendars for event planning. 7. Attend events and assist with technical production. 8. Other duties as assigned are relatable to the production of events.

Qualifications: • A background or general knowledge of the University of Pikeville, Campus Life, and Clubs and Organizations. • Able to communicate efficiently and in a timely manner. • Able to problem solve, identify problems, and come up with solutions. • Have an understanding and ability to balance multiple projects with maintaining academic standards. • Must have the ability to lift weights of differing amounts. Preferred Skills: • Computer knowledge, i.e. Social Media & New Technology. • Attention to detail. • Written and verbal communication. • Customer focused.

Work Schedule: The priority work schedule will vary depending on student availability. • Sunday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday: No hours • Monday & Tuesday: Varies depending on workload • Wednesday: 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Pay Rate:  $9.25
