FWS - Student Success/Family Connections, Student Assistant - 21-22

Responsibilities: 1. Assist with the planning and execution of events for families including Family Weekend. 2. Assist with managing "Messages from Home" card and care package program. 2. Support the Family Connections annual communication plan which includes generating ideas for social media engagement. 3. Research and prepare content for monthly e-newsletter for families. 4. Complete administrative duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: The priority work schedule is our open hours and during special events. Work hours can be flexible to accommodate the students' class schedule: • Sunday: Closed • Monday-Saturday: Varies depending on workload

Additional Comments: An upperclassman would benefit from working in the office of Family Connections as he/she will have the opportunity to prepare pieces for their portfolio and develop skills to include on his/her resume. A student who is studying communication would experience the practical application of the material they have learned throughout their study of the field. Since the Office of Family Connections is a department of one, the Director will take the time to work with the student one-on-one to provide mentoring and job shadowing. With Family Connections being new to campus, the student will have the opportunity to be a part of building programming for families which will provide transferrable skills as he/she transitions to a career following earning his/her degree.

Pay Rate: 8.25
