Ellucian Colleague System Manager (On-Site or Remote)

The University of Pikeville in Pikeville, Kentucky seeks a dynamic and committed professional to serve in the role of Ellucian Colleague System Manager to be the champion for Ellucian Colleague for the campus. Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure best practices and maximum utilization of Colleague. 

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain the integrity and utilization of the enterprise solution.
  2. Update and maintain production and development environments for Colleague.
  3. Apply software updates/patches as required.
  4. Maintain user account access and security protocols.
  5. Research and implement best practice training programs in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  6. Review and install new and related systems software modules.
  7. Implement new functions to support best practices across the enterprise system.
  8. Develop flat files that facilitate the import and export of data as required.
  9. Maintain and support the SQL data base.
  10. Develop, implement, and maintain enterprise resource planning system applications.
  11. Work across departments to understand integrated business and user needs, implements and tests product enhancements, maintains, modifies, and integrates the University’s ERP (Ellucian Colleague).
  12. Troubleshoot and problem solve existing processes and applications, utilize vendor resources, source code, and database queries; identify issues and recommend appropriate paths to resolution.
  13. Write moderate to complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures; develop and deploy reports.
  14. Learn industry applications, such as Ellucian Colleague, by developing a solid understanding of software, data relationships, and underlying business processes.

Relationships:
Position requires daily contact with co-workers, campus departments, and Ellucian Team in order to exchange information, collaborate on work projects, receive problem reports, and establish Colleague access. These relationships are maintained through e-mail, telephone, and person-to-person contact.

Education/Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field is required.
  • Must have at least 3-5 years of experience working with administrative computing software, multiapplication, client-server database environments.
  • Experience managing ERP systems required.
  • Experience with the Ellucian product suite is required.
  • Experience with MS-SQL and SQL Server Management Studio is required.
  • Must be able to write macros/programs.
