FWS - Information Technology, A/V and Events Support Assistant - 21-22

 The A/V (Audio/Visual) and Events Assistant position provides hands on experience in learning and assisting with the following:

 Setup of equipment used in the execution of events to include but not limited to:

  • audio/visual equipment connections,
  • mixing console,
  • setup/configuration,
  • sound checks,
  • video checks and other testing, and a/v operation during events, rehearsal(s) and production of all campus events and external events. 

 Live-streaming of events, such as graduation, White Coat ceremonies and convocations.

 Maintaining A/V equipment in classrooms and event spaces across campus

 Primary Responsibilities:

  • Arrive prior to the scheduled event/activity time and begin review of event schedule and other information related to the event, arrival times vary.
  • Check, replace batteries in, and distribute A/V equipment as needed to equip band members, vocalists, speakers, etc.
  • Direct sound and video checks on assigned events
  • Coordinate with other event team members, third party vendors, news outlets, etc. to produce the event as planned.
  • Maintain, inventory, and properly clean all A/V equipment, utilizing best practices.
  • Store all A/V equipment not in use appropriately in designated storage areas.
  • Camera operation and live stream video switcher operations
  • Video Editing
  • Other Duties as assigned

 Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize and multitask efficiently.
  • Nights and weekends required.

Preferred: Experience with A/V.

 Work Schedule:

Availability to support after hours and weekend events is necessary to support UPIKE special events.

  • Seven day a week availability.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Pay Rate:  $10/hr

Number of Positions:  4

Availability and flexibility to work evening and weekend events very desirable.
