Graduate Assistant - Advancement Office

The University of Pikeville (UPIKE) is actively seeking a Graduate Assistant for the Advancement Office. The Graduate Assistant will provide direct support for the Advancement Office by performing the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage Young Alumni appeals and student-engaged fundraisers.
  2. Professionally interact (face-to-face and via phone) with executive donors, high prospective donors, alumni, trustees, and other dignitaries.
  3. Assist with alumni events, meetings as required, fundraisers, and mailings.
  4. Provide high-quality administrative support, help manage digital communication, and assist with fundraising efforts.
  5. Assist with data integrity by accurately updating records and linking contact information for constituent database.
  6. Assist the team in engaging students and thanking donors to cultivate philanthropy by writing letters, acknowledging giving milestones, and sending thank you cards.
  7. Learn about CASE standards and regulations governing contributions/IRS guidelines.
  8. Support staff and team with other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree and be accepted into graduate program at UPIKE.
  • Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Must have excellent writing skills, critical thinking skills, high degree of attention to details, and be self-directed.
  • Must have experience working with office equipment, e.g. computer, copiers, scanner, multi-line office phone.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Must be familiar with conducting research.
  • Must have a willingness to learn new things. 
  • Must be dependable and interact as a functioning member of the Advancement team.
  • Must understand the importance of keeping all information confidential.

**Graduate Assistants receive tuition waivers of up to 6 hours of classes per semester, housing & a meal plan. However, if the GA does not reside on campus, then he/she will receive a monthly stipend in lieu of room & board. The meal plan covers the actual number of weeks that classes are in session during the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
