FWS - Nursing, Simulation/Skills Lab Assistant 22-23

Responsibilities: 1. Obtain and prepare equipment for skills check-offs as directed by the skills lab instructor. Assist instructor with setting up items for simulation scenarios. 2. Assist skills lab instructor in the cleaning of equipment such as manikins and/or return of items to storage. 3. Monitor skills lab use by nursing students. Assist students with locating items needed for practice. 4. Maintain a log of equipment checked out for use outside of the skills/simulation laboratory. Assist with semi-annual/annual supplies inventory.

Preferred Skills: • Computer knowledge, i.e. Social Media, New Technology, & activating scenario transitions for simulators • Attention to detail • Strong active listening abilities • Willingness to learn new things

Work Schedule: The priority work schedule is our open hours and during special events. Work hours can be flexible to accommodate the students' class schedule: • Saturday & Sunday: Closed • Monday-Friday: Varies depending on workload

Note: The heaviest simulator weighs 80 lbs. In most cases, more than 1 person handles the simulators when moving them. Additional Comments: This would be a good position for a creative person who is enthusiastic about learning to work with technology and has at least some interest in health care.
