IWS - CAS/Biology, Biology TA 22-23

Responsibilities:

    • Supervise lab experiments for BIO 273 and BIO 350
    • Help set up lab experiments and equipment
    • Assist with general lab upkeep as needed
    • Help supervise exams for BIO 273 and BIO 350 labs and lectures
    • Help grade prelabs, lab exercises and lab exams.

Qualifications:

  1. The position requires attention to detail, and strong time-management and organizational skills.
  2. Completed BIO 350.
  3. Science major.

Preferred Availability:

Preparation for labs usually occurs on Fridays for the upcoming week, so Friday availability is preferred.  Additional work hours Monday-Thursday are flexible according to instructor and applicant’s schedule but will occur within normal business hours.

Work Schedule:  Depending on their class schedule, the students will be working   on weekdays and only the occasional weekend if there is a time-sensitive project to be completed.

Work Conditions: Employee encounters while performing essential functions of the job:  Heat, Machinery, BSL 1 Microorganisms

Physical Demands encountered while performing the essential functions of this job:  Keyboarding, Reaching/handling, Stooping/kneeling, Pushing up to 20 lbs, Lifting up to 20 lbs, Carrying up to 20 lbs
