ERP Technical System Administrator

The University of Pikeville seeks an innovative and experienced professional to provide service and support for the University Colleague ecosystem, by serving in the role of ERP Technical System Administrator. This role works in a team and independently to support end-users. Required skills to successfully fulfill this role include understanding departmental needs, troubleshooting Colleague and ERP-related systems, resolving technical and operational issues and assessing current use and knowledge of Ellucian.

Responsibilities: 

  1. Maintains assets, to include current and appropriate documentation of hardware.
  2. Meets regularly with ITS team to maintain open communication.
  3. Works with end-users to understand their goals, priorities, processes and challenges related to the supported applications.
  4. Provides guidance and assists with reviewing, planning and deploying changes and increased functionality.
  5. Maintains end points, such as workstations, network equipment, servers, and other hardware.
  6. Works with end-users to review and modernize existing business processes, troubleshoot and resolve technical and operational issues, direct implementation of new modules and increased functionality in Colleague, and provide proactive communications about new functionality or defects.
  7. Conducts knowledge-sharing sessions, in response to specific customer needs.
  8. Promotes positive customer usage of Ellucian related functionality, such as the Solution Center, Product Documentation and Communities.
  9. Works with team members and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  10. Performs repairs as necessary through Microsoft Chat, phone, or in-person.
  11. Installs equipment on-site, to include campus-wide and UPIKE affiliated sites.
  12. Maintains self-management skills to include keen attention to detail, ample follow-through, satisfactory time management, and increased flexibility.
  13. Works with the Systems and Network Administrators on project management as projects are assigned.
  14. Receives Helpdesk ticket escalations pertaining to IS infrastructure, resolves any and all issues, and closes the ticket timely within the KACE system.
  15. Other duties as assigned. 

Relationships: 

Position requires daily contact with co-workers, student workers, supervisors, staff members, faculty, students, vendors, and the public in order to exchange information and generate workflow. These relationships are maintained through e-mail, telephone, and person-to-person contact. 

Skills/Experience/Training Required:

  • Associates Degree in Computer Science or related field, or higher.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience of Colleague and Systems Administration practices. Must administer a Colleague environment in either Unix-UniData, WindowsUniData or Windows-SQL, and Manage, Install and Update Colleague and supporting applications.
  • Single Sign-on Configuration/Support (SSO) including SAML/SAML2 protocols.
  • 3 or more years of experience.
  • Colleague architecture and data layers.
  • UniData administration, operation and maintenance.
  • Microsoft SQL Server database administration.
  • Additional or prior knowledge and/or current hands-on experience with other Colleague modules (ST, CF, HR), Envision programming, Ethos Identity, Intelligent Learning Platform (ILP), Ellucian Experience, or other applications in the Ellucian portfolio, in addition to Colleague is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience providing technical, systems administration and support for Colleague.
  • In-depth experience patching and upgrading Colleague.
  • Hands-on experience in technical administration of Colleague and related technology inthe Colleague ecosystem including but not limited to:
    • Self-Service
    • WebAPI
    • Payment Gateway
    • SA Valet
    • ODS
    • Ethos Integration
  • Experience working with office equipment, e.g., computer, printer, and other computer peripherals.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
