University Registrar

The University of Pikeville is seeking a dynamic and committed professional to serve in the role of University Registrar. The ideal candidate will possess excellent collaboration and communication skills and a commitment to student success. Ability to work well with students, faculty, and staff. Dedication to accuracy and integrity of academic records. Directs all facets of the operations of the Office of the Registrar, including student registration and records, class schedules, instructional space assignments, graduation clearance, and other related matters. Plans and develops strategies for maintenance and upgrading of academic information infrastructure. The Office of the Registrar serves all colleges.

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for the leadership and supervision of daily functions and staff of the Office of the Registrar.
  2. Oversees the functions and maintains the integrity of all academic records, including monitoring and verification of grades, transcripts, registration, academic standing, graduation, transfer of credits, and degree evaluations.
  3. Collaborates with academic leaders on campus to develop, maintain, and publish major University information documents, including catalogs and class schedules.
  4. Maintains academic processes in the academic information infrastructures and computer systems.
  5. Serves as a certifying official for all University sports participating in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and collaborates with Athletics to provide academic records for all athletic programs.
  6. Plans, organizes and leads commencement ceremonies.
  7. Collaborates with academic leaders on curriculum development and proposals and academic policies.
  8. Serves as liaison for the Kentucky Council of Postsecondary Education in regard to licensure. Prepares new and supplementary applications, as well as annual and quarterly reports.
  9. Collaborates with academic leaders to provide training and consultation to faculty and staff to ensure proper advising of students for program completion.
  10. Prepares and maintains budget for Office of the Registrar.
  11. Maintains Registrar’s office budget.
  12. Assist with SACSCOC accreditation.
  13. Serves on appropriate academic and university committees.

Relationships:

This position requires daily contact with students, deans, faculty, staff, and members of the community. These relationships are maintained through email, telephone, written, and person-to-person contact.

Education/Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience as a Registrar or closely related enrollment management professional.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
