Director for Clinical Rotations

The University of Pikeville is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director for Clinical Rotations. This position is under the direct supervision of the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs. This position is responsible for supervising all staff in the clinical affairs department. The Clinical Affairs department is responsible for various tasks including scheduling of all core rotations for the Pikeville core site, processing and scheduling of elective and selective requests in the Pikeville core site, and submitting student documentation to core and application sites.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs with administrative duties.
  2. Schedule core rotations, selective and elective rotations for Pikeville core site students.
  3. Assist and advise students regarding their schedules.
  4. Coordinate the Clinical Capstone Course and lottery process.
  5. Revise the clinical rotations manual annually and submit for print.
  6. Maintain the current rotation information on the UPIKE website.
  7. Facilitate student coordinator meetings.
  8. Coordinate schedules for late and/or December graduates.
  9. Track students with COMLEX failures, and students enrolled in COM 799 and 899.
  10. Coordinate with the Deans office regarding payments of core sites and preceptors.
  11. Verification of students for graduation.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

Relationships:

Position requires continuous contact with supervisor and clinical affairs staff. Contact with students, adjunct faculty, core site coordinators and hospital staff. These relationships are maintained through e-mail, telephone, and person-to-person contact.

Education/Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • One to three years of experience in a formal education department, business or professional office preferred.
  • Must possess excellent verbal, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must demonstrate organization ability to multi-task, prioritize, meet deadlines, and have the capacity to exercise good judgement.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
