IWS - CAS/Biology, Assistant Cancer Researcher - 21-22

Responsibilities:  

Sectioning 33 human cancer tissues at 10- micron thickness. Typically, each tissue will provide at least 500 sections which typically takes the students 3 weeks to complete.

Create gel-coated slides, mix necessary solutions and stains

Stain tissues using immunohistochemical techniques using various antibodies

Examine the stained slides under the confocal microscope

Work Schedule:  Depending on their class schedule, the students will be working   on weekdays and only the occasional weekend if there is a time-sensitive project to be completed.
