Clinical Clerkship Coordinator new

Description:

The University of Pikeville is seeking applications for the position of Clinical Clerkship Coordinator. This full-time position is under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Rotations in the KYCOM Department of Clinical Affairs, with direct responsibility for assisting with all correspondence, scheduling and clerical duties regarding clinical rotations for third and/or fourth year KYCOM students.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Schedule assigned students’ rotations in E*Value.
  2. Schedule COMAT exams for assigned students.
  3. Review E*Value logs for assigned students.
  4. Process rotation requests from assigned students for non-core rotations using VSAS and/or paper applications.
  5. Maintain spreadsheet of assigned students’ log submittals and grades.
  6. Process grades for assigned students and report same the Registrar’s Office.
  7. Input Student Evaluation, including comments received by hardcopy into E*Value.
  8. Review students’ progress toward graduation.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

Relationships:

Position requires daily contact with supervisor, faculty, staff, students, campus departments, adjunct clinical faculty and hospital staff.  These relationships are maintained through e-mail, telephone, and person-to-person contact.

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum of Associate Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
  • Previous 1-3 years of experience in a formal education department, business, or professional office is preferred.
  • Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and writing communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate ability to multi-task, prioritize, meet deadlines, and have the capacity to exercise good judgement.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Applications.

Responsibilities:

  1.  Assist and be proactive in the recruitment process of student athletes
  2. Participate in coaches’ meetings for practice prep and game planning

The University of Pikeville (UPIKE) is actively seeking candidates for the Senior Advancement Director for Undergraduate programs. This position is charged with raising private financial gifts for the University. The primary responsibility is to meet or exceed annual and multi-year fundraising goals by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, securing, and stewarding prospects and donors capable of individual gifts in excess of $10,000.

This position is actively engaged in establishing long-term partnerships and strengthening existing relationships with alumni, friends, and corporate and community partners that will result in funding for immediate and long-term goals for the benefit of the undergraduate programs.  

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working within a comprehensive institutional advancement strategy to plan and execute a development plan, which includes identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major gift donors ($10,000+), while working independently and/or collaboratively with volunteers.
  • Meet or exceed annual fundraising goals specified for amount raised, contacts, number of successful solicitations, etc.
  • Manage a major gift prospect base of between 125 to 150 qualified major gift prospects.
  • Conduct 200+ face-to-face visits per year.
  • Execute a minimum of 25 contacts per month with at least half comprising personal, direct contact. The Senior Advancement Director must be able to travel 30% of the time, including overnight and occasional weekends.
  • Document contacts and adhere to policies and procedures for accepting, recording and acknowledging gifts.
  • Work closely with Alumni, Advancement and Public Affairs offices to maximize the fundraising potential of the university through participation in events or meetings.
  • Perform stewardship of endowment scholarships for designated college and/or program.
  • Meet deadlines and budget requirements.

  • The Director of Planned and Major Giving holds primary responsibility for gifts of estates, trusts, and various other financial venues that reflect financial planning and deferred giving opportunities. The director serves as fundraising liaison for the University and prepares written materials, including having primary responsibility for training and support for other staff members working with donors on deferred and planned gifts such as trusts, charitable annuities, life insurance, wills, and bequests.
  • Enhance operational efficiency in planned giving. Ensure that all systems and processes from gift documentation to systems reporting are accurate and tailored to align with the needs of the Advancement Office.
  • Proactively identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards planned giving prospects and serves as the planned giving advisor for all University planned giving donors.
  • Enhance donor gift planning and giving by remaining current in areas of gift possibilities available and the current laws and regulations governing such gifts.
  • Develop effective marketing collateral and education materials for prospective donors and members of the advancement team.
  • Lead strategic efforts for planned giving pipeline movement, gift proposals, policy development, goal setting.
  • Manage planned giving prospects and donors; develop tracking systems and reports.

Responsibilities:

  1. Communicate consistently and effectively with prospective students and their families in person and via phone, email, text messaging, printed media, and the internet.
  2. Develop long lasting and strong professional relationships with pre-health advisors throughout the nation utilizing email, phone and in-person communication.
  3. Meet quantitative and qualitative departmental goals for applications, admitted and enrolled students.
  4. Work aggressively to increase public awareness of the University of Pikeville.
  5. Supervise the proper and timely acknowledgement of inquiries via phone, email and mail while providing accurate and up to date information.

Part-Time Night Circulation Assistant

Description:

The University of Pikeville is actively seeking a part-time Night Circulation Assistant to provide assistance with the circulation of library materials and perform public service duties for Allara Library.

Responsibilities:

Circulation:

  1. Coordinate with the Night Circulation Supervisor to ensure smooth functioning of the circulation desk.
  2. Supervise activities at the circulation desk including, but not limited to, charging and discharging materials, handling overdue fines, adding/removing patrons in the circulation system as needed, and handling reserve materials.
  3. Perform daily maintenance on copiers and printers to ensure paper and toner supplies are adequate and machines function properly.
  4. Answer telephone calls, transfer calls, take messages, and receive and send faxes.
  5. Open and close the library as needed.

Collection Maintenance:

  1. Search for lost and missing items, verify all overdue items are not on the shelves, and other maintenance as needed.
  2. Assist with shelving and shifting.
  3. Assist Cataloger by placing protective coverings on book jackets and adding/removing required library tags and stickers.

Public Services:

  1. Assist students and patrons with copiers, microfilm scanners, and computers.
  2. Assist students and patrons with MS Office application including Word, Excel, Publisher, and Access.

  5. Maintain records and submit appropriate paperwork for facilities concerns. Includes overseeing check-in and check-out procedures, damage charges, key distribution and collection and using online database system to track facilities concerns. Maintain an awareness of the building condition, safety and security, furnishings, and other equipment; provides leadership for resolving concerns.

The focus of the position will be to teach  general chemistry and physical chemistry.  Rank and salary will be based on qualifications.  Applicants must have a strong commitment to teaching in a small university setting and the ability to work effectively with others in a collegial environment dedicated to student learning. 

The successful applicant will be a have a doctorate in chemistry and is prepared to teach a variety of courses that are part of the University’s course offerings in Chemistry.  Teaching responsibilities may include general chemistry, general chemistry lab, physical chemistry, and other upper-level classes in the applicant’s field of interest. While most classes are offered face-to-face, the University does offer classes through other modalities including hybrid and fully online. Faculty may have part of their teaching load assigned to these other modalities. This position also requires advising students, providing service to the University community, assisting with departmental activities, and continuing scholarly growth and development.  A doctorate in chemistry is required.  Applicants with ABD status and within one year of completion will also be considered.  Undergraduate teaching experience is desired.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Education/Experience:

  • Must have earned a D.O. degree from an American Osteopathic Association COCA-accredited college/school of osteopathic medicine.
  • Must be eligible for and maintain an unrestricted Kentucky medical/osteopathic license and obtain that license within 180 days of initial employment.
  • Must be board certified by AOBFP and/or AOBNMM (or equivalent).
  • Current and unrestricted DEA certificate.
