Director of Advancement - Graduate Programs new

The Advancement Director position is charged with raising private gifts for a specified college and/or program. The primary responsibility is to meet or exceed annual and multi-year fundraising goals by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, securing, and stewarding prospects.

Description:

The Advancement Director position is charged with raising private gifts for a specified college and/or program. The primary responsibility is to meet or exceed annual and multi-year fundraising goals by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, securing, and stewarding prospects and donors capable of individual gifts in excess of $10,000.

The position is actively engaged in establishing long-term partnerships and strengthening existing relationships with alumni, vendors, corporate and community partners, and other key industry leaders that will result in funding for immediate and long-term goals for the benefit of the graduate programs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working within a comprehensive institutional advancement strategy – plan and execute a development plan, which includes identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major gift donors ($10,000+), while working independently and/or collaboratively with volunteers.
  • Meet or exceed annual fundraising goals specified for amount raised, contacts, number of successful solicitations, etc.
  • Manage a major gift prospect base of between 125 to 150 qualified major gift prospects.
  • Conduct 200+ face-to-face visits per year.
  • Execute a minimum of 30 to 35 contacts per month with at least half comprising personal, direct contact. The Senior Advancement Director must be able to travel 40% of the time, including overnight and occasional weekends.
  • Document contacts and adhere to policies and procedures for accepting, recording and acknowledging gifts.
  • Work closely with Alumni, Advancement and Public Affairs offices to maximize the fundraising potential of the university through participation in events or meetings.
  • Perform stewardship of endowment scholarships for designated college and/or program.

 Essential Functions:

  • Results-oriented with professional characteristics that include leadership, commitment to confidentiality, flexibility, team-orientation, attention to detail and sensitivity to the stewardship of long-term relationships.
  • Ability to travel extensively with overnight stays and occasional weekends.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervised by the Vice President of Advancement and coordinating closely with the Dean of the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine (KYCOM): Plan, secure, manage and evaluate new, renewed, and expanded partnerships that strengthen and drive the support for UPIKE and KYCOM’s mission.
  • Meet performance measures and evaluate effectiveness of all projects.
  • Build a pipeline of donor-centered major and planned gift prospects, ensuring they are cultivated in an appropriate and deliberate manner leading to the solicitation of major gifts.
  • Develop strategic relationships among faculty, staff, alumni, volunteers, friends, students, corporations, foundations and campus colleagues that result in effective partnerships and increased philanthropic funding
  • Oversee and coordinate donor-centered events in support of KYCOM.
  • Ensure timely, accurate documentation of contacts and cultivation strategies, proposals, pledges, fund agreements, etc.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Proven track record – multiple years of fundraising or sales experience required with demonstrated success at meeting annual and/or campaign goals.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; negotiation skills, proven success in goal achievement.

Description:

The University of Pikeville (UPIKE) is actively seeking qualified candidates for the position of Graduate Assistant for Track & Field. Duties include administration in all phases of the programs, including recruiting, player-evaluation, practice planning and implementation, off-season conditioning, fund-raising, and scheduling, other coaching duties or administrative duties as assigned. The position is under the direct supervision of Head Coach for Track & Field.

Responsibilities:

  1. Administrative duties in all phases of the program. 
  2. Assist with all phases of competitive NAIA compliant recruiting. 
  3. Evaluate prospective student-athletes through game, showcase, and video observation. Execute and evaluate practice and game planning, including video coordination. Directly responsible for position skill development in assigned area(s). 
  4. Practice planning and implementation.
  5. Track, compile and disseminate scrimmage and match statistics. 
  6. Off-season conditioning. 
  7. Assist with the direction of camps, fundraising, and other program development activities. 
  8. Scheduling: Assist with arranging aspects of team travel including but not limited to: team meals for home and away contests and team lodging arrangements. 
  9. Assist the Head Coach with office and administrative duties.

Knowledge/Skills/Ability:

  • Knowledge of the rules and regulations established by the NAIA and the Mid-South Conference.

  • Previous collegiate playing experience. 

**Graduate Assistants receive tuition waivers of up to 6 hours of classes per semester, housing & a meal plan. However, if the GA does not reside on campus, then he/she will receive a monthly stipend in lieu of room & board. The meal plan covers the actual number of weeks that classes are in session during the fall, spring, and summer semesters.

Description:

The University of Pikeville (UPIKE), the Leading University in Central Appalachia, is currently seeking a creative, skilled, and service-oriented colleague for the position of Community Engagement and Instruction Librarian to work collaboratively with other librarians to develop programs and events based on patron interest and coordinate library participation in community events.  Will also work internally to develop strategies for programming and engagement and serve as part of the library instruction team.

Responsibilities:

Outreach

  1. Plans and coordinates special programs and events.
  2. Plans and executes social media marketing, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
  3. Plans and executes community partnerships.
  4. Plans and executes library services focus group sessions.
  5. Documents and reports statistics and assessment measures.

Instruction

  1. Teach course-integrated information literacy sessions to students.
  2. Collaborate with faculty to provide advanced library research instruction for students in discipline specific courses.
  3. Coordinate with other Instruction Librarians to ensure that each student receives comparable instruction.
  4. Collaborate with faculty to provide Open Educational Resources and Open Access Resources for classroom use.

Reference

  1. Maintain knowledge of research resources, current trends and best practices in library reference services.
  2. Investigate new ideas and innovation in reference.

Collection Development/Departmental Liaison

  1. Work closely with academic departments as a contact and promoter for all library services.

Description:

The University of Pikeville (UPIKE) is actively seeking candidates for a full-time Development Advisor position in the Upward Bound program. This position is a federally funded TRIO Program and all positions are contingent upon sufficient funding. The Development Advisor is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and implementing programs, activities and services that promote and enhance postsecondary educational and career opportunities for the students participating in the Upward Bound project. This position will ensure the full implementation of the planned activities, services, and programs for an at-risk, high school student population from a wide geographical range of five school districts consisting of 11 separate target schools. 

Responsibilities: 

  1. Facilitating or co-facilitating the career work-study program, including leading career exploration workshops. 
  2. Facilitating or co-facilitating the bridge program, including helping high school seniors to complete financial aid and scholarship applications. 
  3. Recruiting, interviewing, and recommending new students into the program, visiting participants monthly at their schools, planning and supervising college and educational/cultural trips, planning summer activities, and hiring, training, and supervising summer staff. 
  4. Providing personal and career counseling services to high school project participants and planning and facilitating small peer-groups during the summer program. 
  5. Other related duties as assigned.

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in human services, education, or related field is required. 
  • Minimum of one year experience in personal, academic, or career counseling/advising is also required. 
  • Ability to identify the barriers and disadvantages faced by area youth and the ability to relate effectively to campus personnel, and local secondary school personnel and students.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the purpose and mission of the Upward Bound program.

Description:

The University of Pikeville (UPIKE), the Leading University in Central Appalachia, is currently seeking a creative, skilled, and service-oriented colleague for the position of Medical Librarian to work collaboratively with other librarians. This position has overall responsibilities to conduct assessment and provide specialized information services and instruction to students, faculty, researchers, and clinicians in the health sciences areas, with a particular focus on the field of optometry. This position will function as the Liaison to the Kentucky College of Optometry (KYCO).

Responsibilities:

Public Services and Reference

  1. Provides reference consultations and assists library users with research inquiries.
  2. Cooperate and cross-train with the liaison to KYCOM in order to provide the best service to all health science students.
  3. Provide reference assistance through telephone, email, online chat, and in-person.
  4. Provide reference assistance for students on off-campus rotations.
  5. Works with preceptors to provide necessary information and services.
  6. Manage and develop research guides for health sciences material.

Instruction and Assessment

  1. Provide training and instruction in the use of health sciences-related resources for both the Kentucky College of Optometry and the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine.
  2. Provide workshops to faculty as needed.
  3. In conjunction with library staff, conduct studies to determine the effectiveness of library resources and identify potential new products and services for the library.
  4. Train staff and other librarians in health science resources as needed.
  5. Document and report statistics and assessment measures.  

Development/Departmental Liaison

  1. Serves as the primary liaison to KYCO faculty, staff, and administration.

Description:

The University of Pikeville is seeking an Information Technology Field Tech.  The primary role of this position is to provide diagnosis, on-site service, repair and documentation of service to hardware and equipment, which includes servers, workstations, VoIP, telecommunications systems, and security systems.

Responsibilities:

  1. Comply with the IT Services Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  2. Maintain assets to include current, proper documentation of hardware status.
  3. Maintain end points such as workstations, network equipment, servers, and other hardware.
  4. Deploy and maintain workstations using software such as PDQDeploy, Windows Server MDT, and JAMF to managed devices.
  5. Install, maintain, and proactively replace battery backups.
  6. Configure network management and environmental management cards.
  7. Analyze reports for endpoint security and patch management, remediate issues found, escalate to the IT Senior Systems Administrator when necessary.
  8. Work with team members and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  9. Perform repairs as necessary through Microsoft Chat, phone, or in-person.
  10. Install equipment on-site, to include campus wide and at UPIKE affiliated sites.
  11. Maintain reliable, consistent organization of hardware to include cable management, labeling, inventory management, and documentation of cable maps.
  12. Maintain self-management skills to include attention to detail, follow through, time management, and flexibility.
  13. Work with the IT Senior Systems Administrator on project management as projects are assigned.
  14. Receive Helpdesk ticket escalations which pertain to IT infrastructure, resolve the IT issue, and close the ticket in a timely manner within the KACE system.
  15. Other duties as assigned.

Relationships:

  13. Receive Helpdesk ticket escalations which pertain to IT infrastructure, resolve the IT issue, and close the ticket in a timely manner within the KACE system. Assist in maintaining licensing inventory.
  14. Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
  15. Assist in monitoring and maintaining backups in accordance to DR, Business Continuity, and IT policy.

    2. Recruitment of clinical didactic faculty to meet the needs of the curriculum.
    3. Coordination of all clinical didactic faculty remuneration.

  3. Coordinate with the KYCOM Assessment and Evaluation Coordinator in the development of all assessment instruments associated with the clinical didactic curriculum.
  4. Collaborate with others within the KYCOM administration and faculty in the evaluation process by which courses are developed and implemented.
  5. Coordinate with the KYCOM Academic Success Coordinator and the UPIKE Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness in all evaluative methodologies pertaining to clinical didactic courses in faculty and student performance.
  6. Collaborate with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the overall outcomes’ measurement of the clinical didactic curriculum to act as a feedback mechanism for curriculum improvement.
  7. Act as liaison with administration and faculty to insure a robust integration between clinical didactic and basic science courses.
  8. With administrative supervision, responsible for budgetary oversight and planning associated with the UPIKE budget within Osteopathic Clinical Education.
  9. Interact and support KYCOM professional needs including but not exclusive to continuing medical education (CME), interprofessional education (IPE), Information Technology (IT), and Faculty Development.

  3. Review personal statements and CVs and provide timely feedback.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide live-in residence hall management and deliver an array of engaging, educational programs for the residential community; oversee total Residential Education of students residing in the area. 
  2. Specialize in one of three residence life functional areas: Student Staff Development, Residential Education, or Occupancy Management.
  3. Work out of the office located in the assigned area, while staying engaged with and providing coverage of the central office as needed. 
  4. Participate in 24-hour on-call duty rotation including night, weekend and holidays, responding to calls for assistance and emergency situations.
  5. Participate in the hiring, training, and supervision of Resident Assistant (RA) staff; provide direct supervision for RA staff and Senior RAs.
  6. Serve as a retention agent and intervene with students on behalf of the institution when students present risks to their retention or persistence. Refer students to campus resources as needed and actively contribute to the university-wide retention initiatives.
  7. Maintain records and submit appropriate paperwork for facilities concerns. Includes overseeing check-in and check-out procedures, damage charges, room access management, and using an online database system to track facilities concerts.  Maintain an awareness of building conditions, safety and security, furnishings, and other equipment; provides leadership for resolving concerns.
  8. Serve as a residence life liaison with other campus agencies, including Facilities, Public Safety, Aramark (both Housekeeping and Facilities), Athletics, International Programs, Career and Professional Development, Student Activities, etc.

This position is charged with fostering and securing planned, private financial gifts for the University. The primary responsibility is to meet or exceed annual and multi-year goals by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, securing, and stewarding prospects and donors for planned gifts.

This position is actively engaged in establishing long-term partnerships and strengthening existing relationships with alumni and supports of the University that will result in financial commitments for the benefit of the University.  

 Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working within a comprehensive institutional advancement – plan and execute a development plan, which includes identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of planned gifts, while working independently and/or collaboratively with volunteers.
  • Meet or exceed annual fundraising goals specified for amount raised, contacts, number of successful solicitations, etc.
  • Manage a major gift prospect base of between 125 to 150 qualified major gift prospects.
  • Conduct 150+ face-to-face visits per year.
  • Execute a minimum of 30 contacts per month with at least half comprising personal, direct contact. The Advancement Director must be able to travel 35% of the time, including overnight and occasional weekends.
  • Document contacts and adhere to policies and procedures for accepting, recording and acknowledging gifts.
  • Work closely with Alumni, Advancement and Public Affairs offices to maximize the fundraising potential of the university through participation in events or meetings.
  • Perform stewardship of endowment scholarships for designated college and/or program.

Essential Functions:

  • Results-oriented with professional characteristics that include leadership, commitment to confidentiality, flexibility, team-orientation, attention to detail and sensitivity to the stewardship of long-term relationships.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Director of Planned and Major Giving holds primary responsibility for gifts of estates, trusts, and various other financial venues that reflect financial planning and deferred giving opportunities. The director serves as fundraising liaison for the University and prepares written materials, including having primary responsibility for training and support for other staff members working with donors on deferred and planned gifts such as trusts, charitable annuities, life insurance, wills, and bequests.

The University of Pikeville is actively seeking a Part-Time, On-Call Event Staff Member to support the Conference and Event Services department.  This position will primarily focus on event setup and tear down, cleaning and maintenance services as needed to support an outstanding student/visitor experience as well as adequately maintain the ongoing cleanliness and appearance of the University.

Responsibilities:

  1. Set up and take down events, portable chairs, staging, tables, pipe and drape, flooring, and other equipment for the successful execution of events.
  2. Operates equipment, such as pallet jacks, and scrubbing machines.
  3. Provides debris removal and other general labor activities.
  4. Maintain and repair event equipment.
  5. Transport equipment to and from offsite storage, as is necessary.
  6. Perform general maintenance and janitorial duties as needed.
  7. Assist students, clients, and university visitors as needed.
  8. Attend and participate in planning, training, and staff meetings.
  9. Assists with various department and organization projects and special assignments as needed.
  10. Reports to work when scheduled, on time, in proper and clean uniform. Personal appearance and grooming must conform to Conference and Event Services dress code.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Relationships:

Position requires daily contact with co-workers, supervisors, alumni, students, prospective students, parents, and the general public in order to collaborate on and manage projects, update and exchange information, and provide general information through social media and Web services. Education/Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  1. Responsible for teaching in those courses and associated labs within the Department of Osteopathic Principles and Practice and the Department of Family Medicine, as assigned by the chair of the Department of OPP. 
  2. Participates in and recommends curriculum development and evaluation.
  3. Assists in the preparation of course syllabi, objectives, lecture schedules, and testing procedures.
  4. Assists in the preparation of materials and documentation required for continued accreditation of the school by the American Osteopathic Association -COCA and other accrediting agencies.
  5. Actively serves on appointed KYCOM Faculty and UPIKE Committees.
  6. Provides clinical services as directed by the Department Chair and Dean, which would be associated with osteopathic manipulative medicine and/or family medicine.
  7. Provides counseling, advising and guidance to students.
  8. Responsible for other duties as directed by the Dean.

Education/Experience:

  • Must have earned a D.O. degree from an American Osteopathic Association COCA-accredited college/school of osteopathic medicine.
  • Must be eligible for and maintain an unrestricted Kentucky medical/osteopathic license and obtain that license within 180 days of initial employment.
  • Must be board certified by AOBFP and/or AOBNMM (or equivalent).
  • Current and unrestricted DEA certificate.
  • Previous research and academic/clinical experience is desirable.

  • Preferred candidates will hold a certification/license in social work and/or certification/license in alcohol and drug counseling.
  • A minimum of two years of experience teaching in a CSWE accredited program, with at least one year of experience teaching in a graduate program preferred.
  • Knowledge of CSWE Accreditation Standards and process is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate a record of highly successful teaching (preferably including online and hybrid classroom teaching experience), as well as scholarship, and university service.

RESPONSIBILITIES: A successful candidate must be passionate and experienced in classroom and clinical instruction. This position will require participation in the KYCO clinics providing care with both student interns and optometric residents.

QUALIFICATIONS: This vacancy will require a minimum Doctor of Optometry Degree (O.D.). Residency training in the appropriate areas of specialty or a minimum of five years of relevant clinical experience is preferred.  Optometrist applicants must be eligible for licensure in the state of Kentucky with expanded therapeutics certification and are expected to participate in patient care services. Prior college teaching experience is strongly preferred.

The adjunct instructor will serve under the supervision of specific full-time social work faculty and the Chair of the School of Social Work, while accepting the following responsibilities:  

Responsibilities:

  1. Teaching the assigned social work course(s), this includes preparing lecture notes, presentation prep, designing assignments, assessment of student competence, and syllabus prep.  May also include coordination of co-curricular activities. 
  2. Participating in and recommending curriculum development and evaluation.
  3. Providing educational support for students on an as-needed basis.
  4. Participating in orientation sessions and School of Social Work planning activities, if appropriate.
  5. Providing educational support for students on an as-needed basis.

Relationships:

  1. Must have a minimum of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree and clinical experience within the last two years.
