Description:

The University of Pikeville (UPIKE), the Leading University in Central Appalachia, is currently seeking applicants for its Director of Public Relations and Communication. This key leadership role on-campus sets and guides the strategy for all marketing, digital communications, website development, and public relations strategies. The Director of Public Relations and Communications is responsible for planning and managing all communications messaging and activities and building external relationships with University of Pikeville stakeholders. The Director will work with senior colleagues within the organization on a variety of strategic initiatives and collateral to support the university's mission.

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise an effective public relations team of approximately five (5) professionals, with the capacity to execute the strategy in a consistent, unified, effective manner.
  2. Maintain effective administrative systems to ensure that accurate and attractive content is captured, developed, and presented consistently and efficiently using channels that will have maximum impact for each unit.
  3. Lead University communications accounts and activities and set strategy for University marketing and communications.
  4. Oversees the development and execution of public affairs, marketing, digital communications, website development, social media, and other communications strategies and programs to increase the visibility of the people and programs of the University.
  5. Collaborate with faculty to implement outreach strategies in support of their respective academic activities.
  6. Support production of the alumni/advancement magazine targeted efforts focused on alumni relations.
  7. Advise key University leaders on current and potential public relations, marketing, and communication issues; recommend an effective course of action.

Relationships: 

Position requires daily contact with students, faculty, staff, and alumni in order to advance the mission of the University of Pikeville. These relationships are conducted through e-mail, telephone, written mail, person-to-person contact, and media relations.

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, and/or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

Maintenance Grounds new

The University of Pikeville is seeking qualified candidate for a Maintenance Grounds Position.

Description:

The University of Pikeville is seeking qualified candidate for a Maintenance Grounds Position. 

Two main functions:

  1. To provide landscaping services to university owned acreage. This position is responsible for the operation of lawn maintenance equipment, including a pickup for disposing waste, and lawnmowers, trimmers, and blowers, and understand how to water, fertilize, and prune decorative shrubs and plants. We pride ourselves in keeping our campus safe and looking beautiful, so our team works in various types of weather conditions and performs maintenance duties to ensure employee safety during inclement weather by removing debris, snow, and ice from communal walkways and spaces.
  2. To provide maintenance assistance by collecting recyclables and preparing bales for pickup, and assist in campus-wide repairs and maintenance. Repairs may involve carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, etc. This position is responsible for operation of cardboard compactor, driving a vehicle to transport recyclables from various locations on campus.

 Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain the existing landscaping design and ensure plant survival.
  2. Pull weeds from flowerbeds and sidewalks.
  3. Prune trees, shrubs, and hedges.
  4. Plant new flowers, bushes, plants, and decorative shrubs.
  5. Rake fallen leaves and remove debris.
  6. Keep pedestrian areas removed of snow and ice.
  7. Properly store and handle all equipment, tools, sprinklers, fertilizer, etc.
  8. Oversee maintenance repairs to equipment, landscape structures, and hardscape walkways.
  9. Collect recyclables and prepare for pickup.
  10. Ensure collection areas are tidy, and ensure supplies needed are stocked.
  11. Additional assistance moving furniture or setting up for events may be required.
  12. Other duties assigned.

 Relationships:

This position requires continuous communication with co-workers, the supervisor, students, employees, student workers, various campus departments, contractors, and the public in order to direct and assist in the care of the campus of the University of Pikeville. These relationships are maintained through phone, e-mail, and person-to-person contact.

 Education/Skill Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience in landscaping or ground keeping is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must know how to operate lawn maintenance equipment, such as lawnmowers, string trimmers, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers and chainsaws.

The University of Pikeville in Pikeville, Kentucky seeks a dynamic and creative Football Assistant interested in supporting and directing the University’s football program under the direction of the Head Coach. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated and accomplished professional to join a progressive athletics team and innovative university environment. The position will help manage and assist in overseeing the football team, in accordance with University of Pikeville, Mid-South Conference, and NAIA regulations. This position must have a commitment to the philosophy of providing a competitive NAIA program that emphasizes integrity and the educational welfare of its student-athletes and supports the direction of the Head Coach.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management and supervision of athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions, to promote individual growth in athletic skills, leadership, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship. 
  • Collaborate with faculty and key leaders on campus to support the academic success of student-athletes.
  • Participate in the recruitment and scouting process of all prospective football players.
  • Assist in scheduling and conducting all practice sessions and games, both home and away.
  • Ensure all football coaches work together toward a common goal within the football program and provide unity within the community.
  • Participate in game planning in conjunction with Head Coach.
  • Oversee certain assistant coaches, managers, volunteers, and work-study students to direct their duties under the guidance of the Head Coach.
  • Manage and maintain all football facilities.
  • Facilitate fundraising for the team’s budget and facilities.

  • Organize and oversee travel arrangements.
  • Communicates with parents and the Parent Connections Office on-campus on the success of students and activities.

Relationships:

Position requires daily contact with coaches, student athletes, parents, alumni, faculty, and staff in order to communicate information about the athletics program at the University of Pikeville. In addition, the position requires collaboration with the Family Connections Office on-campus to communicate and engage current families or prospective families. Under the supervision of the Athletic Director, the Esports Coach responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Partners with other UPIKE faculty and staff to recruit and retain student athletes.
  2. Work with Financial Aid and Admissions to manage and allocate scholarships.
  3. Conduct and plan all practices and matches for the Esports team.
  4. Maintain and monitor the Esports Arena.
  5. Schedule scrimmages with other Universities and register for seasons with organizations that host the games on roster.
  6. Manage skill development and instill the philosophical perspective necessary for personal and team growth.
  7. Record matches to enable visual feedback, strategy development and scouting of opponents.
  8. Study each game and understand relevant knowledge on the meta and relevant update patches.
  9. Resolve conflicts between players and motivate the players to improve.
  10. Utilize IT Helpdesk to manage computer equipment.
  11. Fundraise for additional equipment.
  12. Monitor academic process of student athletes.
  13. Maintain the Esports budget by follow purchasing and spending guidelines as set by the university and the Athletics Department.
  14. Maintain receipts and reconcile department credit card monthly.
  15. Ensure the health and safety of athletes and staff.
  16. Schedule events for team community service.
  17. Other duties as assigned.

Education & Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • Competitive gaming coaching experience preferred.
  • Ability to organize, motivate and manage a college gaming team.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have competitive experience in ESPORTS titles, especially League of Legends, Overwatch, and Valorant.
  • Excellent understanding of the rules and intricacies of each competitive game, and ability to play the game at a reasonable level.

Responsibilities:

  1. In coordination with program chairs and nursing faculty, prepares clinical and skills lab schedules.
  2. Maintains clinical facility affiliation records.
    • Manages and updates clinical site affiliation agreements as needed.
    • Prepares and communicates Exhibit A’s to clinical facilities; makes adjustments as needed.
    • Manages off-rotation schedules.
  3. Maintains relationships and acts as a liaison to clinical sites regarding preceptor recruitment, orientation, and affiliation agreements.
  4. Schedules make-up clinical experiences as needed.
  5. Evaluates student compliance with respect to clinical requirements (liability insurance, immunizations, CPR, background checks, urine drug screens, etc.) and communicates this compliance to clinical facilities.
  6. Contacts relevant clinical facilities and schedules required facility orientations for students/faculty.
  7. Assists with student orientation processes.
  8. Collaborates with and serves as a back-up to the School of Nursing Administrative Assistant in the provision of clerical support and administrative supervision and guidance to students regarding administrative issues, due dates and deadlines.
  9. In coordination with nursing faculty, assesses labs and equipment for readiness.
    • Maintains security of equipment and supplies.
    • Organizes lab supplies for distribution.
    • Inventories lab supplies at the end of each semester for reorder.
    • Orders student (skills lab) packs from vendor.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

The University of Pikeville in Pikeville, Kentucky is currently seeking a Night Circulation Assistant to provide assistance with the circulation of library materials and perform public service duties for Allara Library.

Responsibilities:

Circulation:

  1. Coordinate with the Circulation Supervisor to ensure smooth functioning of the circulation desk.
  2. Supervise activities at the circulation desk including, but not limited to, charging and discharging materials, handling overdue fines, adding/removing patrons in the circulation system and handling reserve materials.
  3. Perform daily maintenance on copiers, and printers to ensure paper and toner supplies are adequate and machines are functioning properly.
  4. Assist Circulation Supervisor with issuing overdue notices, maintaining/editing overdue list.
  5. Answer telephone calls, transfer calls, take messages, receive and send faxes.
  6. Act as back up to the Serials Technician by receiving and processing daily mail in case of absence.
  7. Assist Interlibrary Loan Technician as needed.
  8. Open and close the library, as needed.
  9. Work weekends as assigned.

Supervision of Student Workers:

  1. Coordinate with Circulation Supervisor to ensure that evening student workers are supervised.
  2. Assign tasks to student workers and verify completion.
  3. Provide input to supervisors concerning student workers job performance.
  4. Assist with student worker schedule changes as needed.
  5. Train incoming student workers in tasks and assigned duties for assurance of circulation desk understanding and operational capabilities.
  6. Assign and oversee daily task-lists and long-term projects to student workers for completion over the course of the academic year.

Collection Maintenance:

  1. Coordinate with Circulation Supervisor to maintain high standards for student workers by performing both scheduled and random accuracy checks on their shelving.
  2. Search for lost and missing items, verify all overdue items are not on the shelves, and other maintenance as needed.
  3. Assist with shelving, shifting, and inventory.
  4. Determine disposal methods for discarded and outdated materials.
  5. Communicate with Better World Books to order supplies for the removal of discarded books. Box, store, and ship discarded books.
  6. Assist Cataloguer by processing incoming and discarded books.
  7. Maintain and display books in the New Books section and Popular Books section.

Public Services:

  1. Assist students and patrons with copiers, microfilm scanners, and computers.
  2. Assist students and patrons with MS Office application including Word, Excel, Publisher, and Access.
  3. Provides basic reference service in the absence of a reference librarian.
  4. Stay current with changes and upgrades in databases in order to provide basic reference service.
  5. Demonstrate good judgement, problem solving skills and communication skills in resolving patron complaints and disputes.
  6. Work with the reference librarian on duty to ensure that all library policies and procedures are followed.
  7. Trouble shoot computers (Mac and PC) as needed.
  8. Assist students with wireless internet connections on their personal devices.

Other:

  1. Create fun and interesting displays to promote material circulation and ensure a welcoming and friendly library environment.
  2. Communicate with Art Department to share withdrawn and discarded materials for use in student art.
  3. Assist study hall students with sign-in/sign-out procedures and send reports to coaches. Report problems to coaches as they develop. Send spreadsheets to coaches.

Relationships:

The primary responsibility is to meet or exceed annual and multi-year goals by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, securing, and stewarding prospects and donors for planned gifts.

This position is actively engaged in establishing long-term partnerships and strengthening existing relationships with alumni and supporters of the University that will result in financial commitments for the benefit of the University.  

 Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working within a comprehensive Advancement team and with academic leaders, create and execute strategic initiatives to secure planned gifts that align with prospective donors’ interests and the University’s priorities.
  • Assist prospective donors and their legal and/or tax advisors with research regarding tax, estate planning, and financial implications of various gift structures.
  • In collaboration with Advancement team members, identify and qualify prospective donors with potential to make planned gifts or hybrid gifts.
  • Cultivate between 150 - 200 prospects in order to meet or exceed goals for engagement and fundraising.
  • Travel locally and regionally strengthening partnerships and building relationships including weekdays and weekends.
  • Document contacts and adhere to policies and procedures for accepting, recording and acknowledging gifts.
  • Maximize the University’s fundraising potential through participation in alumni and donor events. Ensure stewardship protocol is followed for planned gifts.
  • Assist with special projects designed to increase giving internally and externally.

Essential Functions:

  • Results-oriented with professional characteristics that include leadership, commitment to confidentiality, flexibility, team-orientation, attention to detail and sensitivity to the stewardship of long-term relationships.
  • Ability to travel extensively with overnight stays and occasional weekends.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Secure gifts of estates, trusts, charitable gift annuities, life insurance, wills and bequests.
  • Assist with cross-training of other Advancement team members working with donors on planned gifts.
  • Remain current in laws and regulations governing planned gifts.
  • Work closely with Advancement team members and the Office of Public Affairs to develop effective marketing collateral, education materials and proposals for prospective donors.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Relationships:

Position requires regular contact with UPIKE faculty, staff, alumni, prospective donors, donors, and the community to develop relationships and giving opportunities.

Relationships are maintained through various modes of communication including, but not limited to, e-mail, telephone, written, and person-to-person contact.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Proven track record – multiple years of demonstrated success at meeting annual goals.
  • Possess analytical skills and an aptitude for financial reporting
  • Interest in developing skills related to estate planning and financial implications related to gift taxes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, negotiation skills, and proven success in goal achievement.

Description:

The University of Pikeville is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Electrician. The position exercises overall responsibility for inspecting, planning, programming, and implementing of the preventative maintenance electrical program of the campus and other assigned facilities. Reports directly to the Facility Manager.

Responsibilities:

  1. Repairs, installs, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances using necessary hand tools and testing instruments.
  2. Inspects, and tests electrical lighting, signal, communication and power circuits and equipment.
  3. Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment, using suitable testing instruments.
  4. Examines and tests elements of electrical systems to locate obvious faults, such as blown fuses, short circuits, broken wires, loose connections, and worn motor brushes.
  5. Replaces faulty switches, sockets, plugs, fuses, insulators, and other simple elements of electrical systems, fixes and appliances.
  6. Renews circuits either by isolating and cutting out defective wiring and replacing it with new wiring, or by splicing ends of broken wires.
  7. Replaces defective equipment parts such as gears, bushing and bearings and other related electrical parts.
  8. As required, estimate materials needed and record time and materials expended on each work order.
  9. Will have minor supervisory duties when Mechanic Helper is assigned to assist in the work of the Electrician.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Relationships:

Position requires continuous contact with co-workers, supervisor, staff, and students in order to communicate the needs of the campus and direct maintenance. Relationships are typically maintained through daily person-to-person contact and work orders.

 Education/Skill Requirements:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and four years of appropriate experience in electrical related work is required.
  • Possession of a journeyman or master electrician’s license is required.
  • Knowledge of national and local electrical codes.
  • Skilled in all areas concerning the electrical industry. Knowledge of controls and ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Requires the ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.

Description:

The University of Pikeville is seeking applicants for a Staff Biology Laboratory Instructor. Under the general direction of the Math/Science Division Chair and working with Biology faculty, the Staff Biology Laboratory Instructor serves as coordinator and instructor for multiple sections of Biology laboratory courses for majors and non-majors, manages the biology labs and stockrooms, and carries out other duties as assigned. This is a salary position working approximately 40 hours per week for 10 months (August 1 to May 31).

Primary Duties: 

  1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned biology teaching laboratories. 
  2. Serve as instructor for approximately six laboratory sections. This includes preparing teaching materials, supervising lab activities, evaluating student performance, and reporting grades.
  3. Work with biology faculty to organize and develop laboratory exercises.
  4. Maintain office hours to answer student questions.
  5. Serve as stockroom and laboratory manager.
  6. Support biology faculty in preparations for all biology laboratories and maintenance of biology field station.
  7. Maintain chemical, equipment, and specimen inventory for the biology area and order necessary supplies for laboratories.
  8. Assist in cleanup of labs and waste disposal.
  9. Test and maintain laboratory safety equipment and promote safety in the laboratory.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned by the Division Chair of Mathematics and Natural Sciences or the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide leadership direction including developing, planning, goal setting, implementation, evaluation and accountability for academic support services programming.
  2. Supervise and coordinate academic support services such as tutoring, supplemental instruction, writing center, student success courses, and other student academic learning services outside of the classroom.
  3. Develop and collaborate with Center for Student Success on implementing programming and processes such as academic recovery, study skills, etc.
  4. Collaborate with Athletics, Admissions, the Division of Student Success, and others to integrate and offer academic support services as part of the onboarding process for new and continuing students.
  5. Develop and implement a tracking and assessment system for academic support services while also utilizing the Early Alert System to monitor academic progress.
  6. Develop and implement regular trainings and workshops in conjunction with UPIKE Professional Development for faculty, administrators, staff, and work-study students.
  7. Collaborate with data management experts at UPIKE such as Institutional Research to provide student usage data needed for the early alert system, academic recovery systems, student success tracking, and retention.
  8. Provide regular reports for assessment and planning purposes.
  9. Develop and administer the budget for all programs related to academic support services.
  10. Hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate the work performance of assigned personnel.
  11. Write grant proposals as part of a team focused on academic success as needed.
  12. Plan and coordinate research projects related to areas of responsibility and prepare a variety of research related reports.
  13. Participate in shared governance through service on planning and/or operations committees and task forces.
  14. Evaluate and adjust the student intake process of the CAE annually to better promote equity and access.
  15. Under the supervision of the Assistant Dean, maintain a positive working relationship with faculty, both undergraduate and graduate), and athletic staff.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and evaluate the academic progress of 165 low income, first generation, and disabled college students from intake to graduation on an on-going basis.
  2. Conduct academic counseling sessions once a semester or as needed and requested with ACE participants and develops academic goals with each participant for successful completion of academic coursework.
  3. Develop, implement, and disburses all programming information associated with orientation programs such as GROWL virtually, in-person or hybrid.
  4. Responsible for maintaining all ACE social media accounts and advertising for program activities and events.
  5. Collaborate with public affairs and related campus departments to have ACE information shared on the UPIKE website and other university platforms to promote ACE program goals and initiatives to incoming and current students.
  6. Increase retention rates through academic planning, programming, and collaboration with on campus personnel.
  7. Plan and conduct academic related workshops for students using in-person, virtual or hybrid model of instruction.
  8. Refer students to on-campus and off-campus resources necessary for retention and graduation objectives related to the delivery of program services, including counseling and tutoring.
  9. Research, prepare, and write Student Support Services proposal each TRiO grant competition year.
  10. Assist the Project Coordinator in the implementation and advertisement of the ACE LEADS leadership orientation program and accompanies students on all off-campus trips and activities.
  11. Assist with the implementation of Financial Literacy curriculum to all 165 students using an in-person, virtual, or hybrid model of instruction.
  12. Assist in the recruitment of ACE eligible students who have been accepted for enrollment at orientation and welcome week activities and events. 
  13. Utilize all institutional programs, databases, and processes to communicate with and advertise to ACE program participants (NURO, Campus Groups, Canvas, etc.) and prepare weekly reports from these programs to ACE staff.
  14. Attend and contribute to monthly ACE advisory board meetings. 
  15. Enter academic and financial student data in BLUMEN database, as requested, for reporting to U.S. Department of Education.

Under the supervision, and directly reporting to the Dean of KYCOM, this person has overall responsibility for the clinical curriculum in years 1 and 2 and oversight of the Clinical Skills Training and Evaluation Center.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversees Clinical Curriculum in KYCOM years 1 and 2.
  2. Teaches clinical skills in first- and second-year medical student courses.

In particular, candidates should have the interest and ability to teach oral communication courses at both the introductory and advanced levels. Courses will also include Professional Communication, Interpersonal Communication, and the opportunity to redesign existing and/or develop new, innovative courses and programs. While most classes are offered face-to-face, the University does offer classes through other modalities including hybrid and fully online, so faculty may have part of their teaching load assigned to these other modalities, but this position is on site. The position also requires advising students, providing service to the University community, assisting with departmental activities, and continuing scholarly growth and development. A doctorate in communication is preferred. Applicants with a master’s degree and significant experience will be considered.

Residency training in the appropriate areas of specialty or a minimum of five years of relevant clinical experience is preferred. Optometrist applicants must be eligible for licensure in the state of Kentucky with expanded therapeutics certification and are expected to participate in patient care services.  Prior college teaching experience is strongly preferred. The Band Assistant (Adjunct Faculty) will assist the Director of Bands in a collaborative environment with the administration, recruitment, retention, and continued development of a comprehensive university band program in addition to other responsibilities as assigned.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  1. Teach private instrumental lessons (woodwind, brass, guitar, and/or percussion; percussion preferred).
  2. Assist with all aspects of Marching Band rehearsals and administration.
  3. Assist with Concert Band; oversee percussion section.
  4. Assist with Jazz Band; oversee select sectionals.
  5. Assist with Pep Band; shared directing responsibilities.
  6. Ability to write/edit cadences for Marching Band drumline (preferred).
  7. Conduct Marching Band and Concert Band rehearsals in the absence of the Director of Bands.
  8. Assist with instrumental inventory, music library, and uniform inventory.
  9. Assist in recruitment activities including conferences and student outreach.
  10. Inform the Director of Bands on needed purchases/repairs.

 Additional responsibilities may include the following, based on the candidate’s experience:

  • Teach and manage the UPIKE Rock Band, including booking venues and transport logistics.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Athletic office with day-to-day operations in the AD office.
  2. Help with gameday operations for each sport.
  3. Assist with collecting and organizing coaches credit card statements.
  4. Coordinate communication with athletic department sponsors and delivery of services for sponsors.
  5. Assist with athletic media day shoots.
  6. Assist with UPIKE SportsNetwork with all streaming services for home games including setup/breakdown. Help with production to produce live video coverage and generate video content for the athletics department. Operation of DakStats and Stretch Internet for live stats of home contests.
  7. Help assist and guide a group of student workers and interns on gamedays and in office duties.
  8. Manage gym set-up and breakdown for events, practices and meetings.
  9. Responsible for cleaning Athletics offices and disinfecting those areas.
  10. Managing Bear Space Rosters for part-time coaches.
  11. Collecting mail and deliveries for Athletics.
  12. Assist coaches with oversight of our SAAC program on generating new ideas of community service and outreach.

Description:

The University of Pikeville in Pikeville, Kentucky, is seeking an innovative and highly organized Graduate Assistant (GA) in the Kentucky College of Optometry (KYCO) to coordinate student activities. The Coordinator for Student Activities reports to the Assistant Director of Educational Support and oversees student related activities and functions. The coordinator will also meet with the faculty advisor and leaders of the clubs and organizations approved within KYCO.

Responsibilities: 

  1. Liaison between students, faculty, staff, and ensure communication between all involved with each club.
  2. Organizes, coordinates, and serves as advisor for student clubs and organizations.
  3. Maintain strong relationships with faculty advisors and student leaders.
  4. Works with student organizations and club leaders and their advisors to ensure knowledge of college policies and procedures.
  5. Work collaboratively with student organization advisors, and students to keep an updated calendar of activities on campus, assist students with the preparation and planning of events, and oversee appropriate supervision of student events.
  6. Provide resources, support, and training for student clubs and organizations.
  7. Create, develop, and implement learning opportunities that encourage student involvement through interdepartmental collaboration.
  8. Oversee and advise approximately 15 Kentucky College of Optometry student clubs and organizations.
  9. Provide monthly reports regarding club activities to the KYCO Dean and Office of Retention Services at UPIKE.
  10. Collaborate with KYCOM and Undergraduate Student Affairs staff to promote campus wide activities and programming.

Relationships:

Position requires daily contact with co-workers, students, supervisor, employees of the institution, as well as vendors in order to answer questions, place orders and make sure paperwork is completed. These relationships are maintained through e-mail, fax, telephone, and person-to-person contact.

Education/Skill Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree and be accepted into a graduate program at UPIKE.
  • Previous experience as part of a student activities program.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to represent UPIKE in a professional manner.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet the requirements to drive a university vehicle.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.

**Graduate Assistants receive tuition waivers of up to 6 hours of classes per semester, housing & a meal plan. However, if the GA does not reside on campus, then he/she will receive a monthly stipend in lieu of room & board. The meal plan covers the actual number of weeks that classes are in session during the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
