Graduate Assistant for the Athletic Director
The University of Pikeville Athletics Department is seeking a graduate assistant. This unique position will allow the graduate assistant to gain hands-on experience in the department of athletics while assisting the Athletic Director. UPIKE is growing its sports teams, rosters, budgets and all that comes with running a comprehensive athletic department.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Athletic office with day-to-day operations in the AD office.
- Help with gameday operations for each sport.
- Assist with collecting and organizing coaches credit card statements.
- Coordinate communication with athletic department sponsors and delivery of services for sponsors.
- Assist with athletic media day shoots.
- Assist with UPIKE SportsNetwork with all streaming services for home games including setup/breakdown. Help with production to produce live video coverage and generate video content for the athletics department. Operation of DakStats and Stretch Internet for live stats of home contests.
- Help assist and guide a group of student workers and interns on gamedays and in office duties.
- Manage gym set-up and breakdown for events, practices and meetings.
- Responsible for cleaning Athletics offices and disinfecting those areas.
- Managing Bear Space Rosters for part-time coaches.
- Collecting mail and deliveries for Athletics.
- Assist coaches with oversight of our SAAC program on generating new ideas of community service and outreach.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Highly organized with great attention to detail
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office, Streaming, Quickbooks, Ledgers
- Professional communication skills, both in person and via phone, email, etc.
- Knowledge in event management or marketing experience
- Ability to manage and balance multiple tasks
- Must have an excellent attitude and work well in a team setting
- Flexible and willing to perform other responsibilities as assigned
Must be detail oriented and have excellent customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral and written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
**Graduate Assistants receive tuition waivers of up to 6 hours of classes per semester, housing & a meal plan. However, if the GA does not reside on campus, then he/she will receive a monthly stipend in lieu of room & board. The meal plan covers the actual number of weeks that classes are in session during the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
