Assistant Women's Soccer Coach

The University of Pikeville is searching for an Assistant Women's Soccer Coach to provide support in all aspects of the Women's Soccer program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities

  1. Assist in all areas of running a highly competitive NAIA Appalachian Athletic Conference program.
  2. Assist in all phases of the recruitment of highly qualified student-athletes.
  3. Identify, evaluate, communicate and develop relationships with coaches, recruits, and parents while adhering to all NAIA rules.
  4. Scout, game plan and communicate effectively within a highly competitive league.
  5. Assist the Head Coach in practice planning and the implementation of training for maximum learning and progress of student-athletes.
  6. Work collaboratively with all members of staff.
  7. Participate in all phases of a collegiate program including camp coordination and administration, academics, marketing, fund raising, social media, etc.
  8. Utilize software used by UPIKE including Teamworks, Canvas, OFFICE 365 and other database systems.
  9. Other duties as assigned by the head coach to support the women’s soccer program.

Relationships:

This position requires daily contact with supervisor, coaches, co-workers, student athletes, and parents in order to give instruction and transmit information about the Athletic programs at the University of Pikeville. These relationships are maintained through e-mail, telephone, text messaging, and person-to-person contact. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience as a successful collegiate player and or coach.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit high level athletes.
  • Strong commitment to academic goals and student athlete welfare.
  • Understand and contribute to the teamwork necessary within a coaching staff for optimal performance.
  • Ability to work well with student-athletes, coaches, administrators, faculty, alumni, and staff.
  • Knowledge and adherence to NAIA rules/regulations, and the AAC policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
