Graduate Assistant - Office of Advancement & Alumni Relations

The University of Pikeville (UPIKE) is actively seeking a Graduate Assistant for the Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations. The Graduate Assistant will support the office fundraising, alumni relations efforts, and administrative responsibilities. This position will report to the Assistant Vice President of Advancement & Alumni Relations. This is a 20 hour per week position. Schedule is flexible to accommodate academic coursework. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Excel and be very organized, self-motivated and capable of managing multiple time-sensitive tasks and deliverables. The candidate must be open to learning new tools and skills as the position uses proprietary software.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality administrative and logistical support for advancement events and alumni outreach activities.
  • Assist with social media management to drive alumni/donor engagement and support fundraising activities.
  • Assist with analyzing data and generating reports on giving history, donor demographics, and campaign performance as needed.
  • Process new constituent information following Advancement interactions with alumni, donors and prospective donors.
  • Enter donor gifts into data management software and support administrative efforts towards stewardship.
  • Maintain data integrity by accurately updating donor records in data management software.
  • Conduct prospect research to identify potential donors.
  • Help with the distribution of acknowledgment letters, gift proposals, alumni communications, and other material in conjunction with the Advancement & Alumni Relations team.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the overall advancement program.

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a UPIKE graduate program.
  • Skills and interest in nonprofit management, communications, business administration, or higher education.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Google Suite, and database management.
  • Prior experience with data entry is preferred.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion is required.

**Graduate Assistants receive tuition waivers of up to 6 hours of classes per semester, housing & a meal plan. However, if the GA does not reside on campus, then he/she will receive a monthly stipend in lieu of room & board. The meal plan covers the actual number of weeks that classes are in session during the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
