Responsibilities: 1. Provide one on one math assistance to identified students. 2. Provide one on one reading assistance to identified students. 3. Work with faculty to construct a plan for tutoring. 4. Engage with student to evaluate progress.

Work Schedule: The priority work schedule is our open hours and during special events.

Work hours can be flexible to accommodate the students' class schedule: • Saturday & Sunday: No hours • Monday - Friday: Varies depending on workload

Additional Comments: Work study would require assisting middle school aged students, who have been identified by faculty, in areas of math and reading; the assistance could also include such disciplines as Science and Social Studies for the reading component. The work study individual should possess excellent verbal communication skills to simplify complex topics to the middle school age student. In addition, the work study individual would assist with homework, instruct on how to perform calculations as basic mathematical computations. Further responsibilities include instructing on how to complete basic skills such as note taking and assist with study aides. The work study individual would establish ground rules for the tutoring session to include open communication. The work study individual would also assist with the development of reading habits, reinforce reading skills, and work to increase reading comprehension skills.
