FWS - Center for Student Engagement, Activities and Lounge Support - 22-23

Responsibilities: The Center for Student Engagement Activities and Lounge Support will have dual duties. The first duty is to be a Lounge Attendant.  The duties for the lounge attendant are to make sure that you are visible to all student in the student lounge. The lounge attendant is also responsible in distributing pool sticks, ping pong paddles, video game controls and other material that students may need to use the equipment in the lounge. 

When distributing materials, student lounge attendant must take the student’s ID and once it is returned the student can get their ID back.  The second duty is Activities Support.  Activities support duties are to assist with set up of any CAB, WUW and other events that a happening in the student lounge.  They are also required to put up any marketing material in the student lounge for future events.

Qualifications: • A background or general knowledge of customer service, previous experience in dealing with guests and visitors, and have interpersonal relationship skills. • Preferred to have current CPR and First Aid certifications; certification available through UPIKE at no cost to the workers.

Preferred Skills: • Computer knowledge,  Word & Excel. Power Point, Social Media,& New Technology • Attention to detail. • Written & verbal communication. • Customer focused * Strong Active Listening skills * Willingness to learn new things * .

Work Schedule: The work schedule varies as it is dependent on the number of events we have during the week.  On average each event will have a set up time  of an hour.  Weekly work will average 8 - 12 hours a week depending on need. Work schedule will consist of student lounge hours.  You are able to pick up more hours by assisting with traditional and special events throughout the year.

Work hours a week:  8-12 hours a week depending on.  Some hours may be accommodated to work with Commuter Student schedule depending on availability.   

Weekly work hours:  average 4-6 hours a week work including work before and during events and activities

Pay Rate:  8.25

Loculation:  Student Lounge and event spaces on and off campus utilized by student activities
