Graduate Programs Recruiter

The University of Pikeville is actively seeking a dynamic and committed professional to serve in the role of Recruiter for our Graduate and Online Programs. This position is highly integral to the continued growth and vibrancy of the institution and will recruit for Masters of Business Administration, Masters of Social Work, Teacher Leader Program and RN - BSN program. This position reports to the UPIKE Dean of Admissions. The ideal candidate will possess positive energy, exceptional communication skills, creativity, and enthusiasm for recruiting highly qualified prospective students. This position helps meet enrollment goals regarding applications, acceptances, and enrolled students.

Responsibilities:

  1. Communicate consistently and effectively with prospective students and their families in person and via phone, email, text messaging, printed media, and the internet.
  2. Develop and assist with developing recruitment plans and processes to reach enrollment goals and improve for each assigned program.
  3. Develop long lasting and strong professional relationships with pre-health advisors and business leaders throughout the nation utilizing email, phone and in person communication.
  4. Work with potential students and community partners to grow graduate and online programs.
  5. Work aggressively to increase public awareness of the University of Pikeville.
  6. Provide proper and timely acknowledgement of inquiries via phone, email, and mail while providing accurate and up to date information.
  7. Learn, develop, and implement recruitment strategies and best practices designed to enroll highly qualified new students.
  8. Primary responsibility is recruiting for the following programs: Masters of Social Work, Masters of Business Administration, Teacher Leader and RN- BSN.
  9. Responsible for data entry with UPIKE’s Dual Credit program for Spring and Fall terms.
  10. Represent the University and give presentations at a variety of educational fairs and institutions nationally; this will include in-person and remote presentation.
  11. Assist with creating and updating promotional materials and social media.
  12. Meet quantitative and qualitative departmental goals for applications, admitted, and enrolled students.
  13. Prepare admissions and recruiting reports.
  14. Help oversee application progressions through University Student Information System while observing and complying with all FERPA laws.
  15. Ensure smooth and efficient offering of events and programs, including managing registration and check-in for programs, maintaining rosters of attendees, arranging catering, etc.
  16. Uphold the University of Pikeville Mission Statement.
  17. Work collaboratively with colleagues in Financial Aid, Student Success, Registrar, and other campus offices to ensure a consistent and smooth transition from applicant to student.
  18. Interact effectively with a diverse group of faculty, staff, administrators, and the rest of the University community.
  19. Perform all job duties within given realistic budget and time constraints.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned.

Relationships:

Position requires daily contact with co-workers, supervisor, external vendors, students, faculty, and staff in order to disseminate necessary information and coordinate for daily operations. These relationships are maintained through person-to-person contact, phone, email, Zoom, and fax.

Education/Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in related field. Master’s degree in relevant field preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in competitive sales, public relations, recruitment, admissions or closely related field.
  • Must have strong organizational, communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills with sensitivity to cultural, socioeconomic, and regional differences.
  • Must have polished presentation/public speaking skills, professional appearance, and experience presenting to both small/personal and large/diverse groups of people.
  • Must have experience working with office equipment and technology as well as proficient with Microsoft office programs.
  • Must have ability and desire to quickly learn new customer relationship management software. 
  • Valid driver's license and ability to be certified to drive a University or rental vehicle for recruitment travel.
