FWS - English - Writing Center Research Assistant FWSWRTCTRRAST - Fall/Spring 24/25

Work with Dr.  Jeffery Tyler Syck in the College of Arts and Science, division of Social Science

Responsibilities: 

  • research current trends in writing center pedagogy and praxis (CSD, CT)
  • Develop resource material for Writing Center (C, T, P, CT) 
  • Aid in development of digital presence for WAC, such as new website (upike.edu/academics/writing) (C, T) 
  • Participate in meetings with faculty and relevant staff offices (C, TW, P, CSD, L) 
  • Participate in awareness-raising activities, including but not limited to GROWL (C, P, TW, CSD, L)
  • Prioritize assigned tasks to successfully meet given deadlines (P, L)
  • Develop and pitch ideas to ready Writing Center for an August 2024 launch (CSD, CT, L)

Schedule:  Available Monday - Wednesday

Working conditions:  Employee may encounter heat or cold while performing this job.  

Physical demands:  employee must be able to successfully utilize keyboarding and carrying up to 15 lbs.

Hours per week:  10-15

Pay Rate:  $10.50/hr
