IWS - KYCOM Admissions - PEPP Camp Counselor* - Summer 24

Responsibilities:

Candidates will provide guidance and supervision to undergraduate PEPP campers. (C, TW, P, CT, EI, L)

Candidates selected will be responsible for supervising 3-4 students each that are attending PEPP camp from 6/9/24 through 6/14/24. (C, TW, P, EI, L)

Candidates will make sure their assigned PEPP campers attend all meals and daily activities as scheduled.  (C, TW, CT, L)

Candidates will stay on campus overnight with PEPP campers to ensure personal safety and that all rules are followed. (C, TW, P, CT, EI, L)

Candidates will escort campers to and from all scheduled activities.  (C, TW, P, CT, EI, L)

Candidates will operate UPIKE vehicles and will transport campers to on and off-campus activities. (CT, L, T)

Candidates will successfully complete UPIKE vehicles safety training. (CT, L, T)

Candidates and campers will be assigned rooms on UPIKE’s campus. (CT, CT, L, T)

Candidates will share information regarding their KYCOM experiences and their path to medical school. (C, P, CSD, CT, L)

Candidates will serve as ambassadors for UPIKE and KYCOM. (C, P, CSD, CT, L)

Candidates will report to Makena Markert, Director of Medical School Admissions.

Work Schedule: 6/9/24 through 6/14/24 (40 hours per week)

Keyboarding, Reaching/handling, Stooping/kneeling, Crouching/crawling, Pushing up to 20 lbs, Pulling up to 20 lbs, Lifting up to 20 lbs, Carrying up to 20 lbs

Physical demands included here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

  • Walking and standing for long periods of time and the ability to occasionally climb stairs are required.

Relationships:  Worker will interact and communicate with:  faculty, staff, parents, students, prospective students, campus visitors, alumni, other departments

Must be a current UPIKE or KYCOM student registered for fall classes

 Candidates will successfully complete UPIKE vehicles safety training.

Number of available positions: 5     

Position will only work one week and pay out lump sum upon completion of the camp.

Pay Rate:  $600/stipend  to be paid at the completion of the work
