Responsibilities
The Event Production Crew Member work study position offers a unique opportunity to be an integral part of the Division of Student Affairs, the Center for Student Engagement, and the Office of Event Services. This role involves assisting in the planning, organization, and execution of diverse campus events, contributing to the seamless operation and success of campus initiatives. The position focuses on developing hands-on experience in event setup, A/V equipment operation, inventory management, customer service, and effective communication skills. The Event Production Crew Member plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth execution of events that enhance the campus community experience.

- Collaborate with the Event Production Team to set up and dismantle event spaces, ensuring all equipment, props, and materials are properly prepared and arranged. (C, TW, CT, T)
- Learn and operate audiovisual equipment, including sound systems, projectors, lighting, and related technology, to support event presentations and performances. (CSD, CT, T)
- Assist in managing event inventory, tracking equipment, and ensuring its availability for various events. (C, TW, CT)
- Unloading equipment from trucks and setting up venues for events, including chairs, tables, and building stages. (C, TW,P, CT, L, )
- Provide exceptional customer service to event organizers, attendees, and stakeholders, ensuring a positive and welcoming atmosphere. (C, P, CSD, EI, L)

- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and event organizers to receive and execute instructions, ensuring events meet required standards. (C, TW, P, L)
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized event environment before, during, and after events.(P, L)

The student worker will interact with the following: faculty, staff, parents, students, prospective students, campus visitors, alumni, other departments, vendors.
Work Schedule: Sunday - Saturday and hours may vary
Work Conditions when performing essential functions may include: heat, cold, odors/smoke, Noise, vibrations, wetness, humidity, dust, machinery, light intensity
Physical demands may include: Keyboarding, reaching/handling, stooping/kneeling, crouching/crawling, pushing up to 250 pounds, pulling up to 250 pounds, lifting up to 30 pounds, carrying up to 30 pounds.
Location: All over campus depend on location of event, student lounge in Wickham, Main Station in Center for Student Engagement offices in Wickham Hall Ground Floor.
Pay Rate: $8.75
Number of positions: Multiple, flexible hours per week
