FWS - English - Writing Center Peer Consultant FWSWRTCTRPC - Spring 25

There is particular need to hire students with morning availability, but anyone interested can apply and will be considered.

Responsibilities: 

    1. Provide writing and composing support for academic, campus work, and application purposes (C,TM, P, CSD, CT) 

    1. Conduct campus and classroom presentations to raise awareness of the Center.(L, P, C) 

    1. Conduct workshops for specific purposes, i.e., professional, graduate, and internship applications; research documentation; digital tools; and others as assigned by Center leadership.(L, TW, P, C) 

    1. Maintain accurate records of each consultation through WCOnline.(P, T) 

    1. Assist in developing student and faculty resources; training materials; online content; and others as needed.(TW, P, CSD, CT) 

    1. Attend meetings as required.(P)

Relationships:  Student employee works with faculty, students and staff.

Computer Skills:  Employee work with MS Word, Power-point, WCOnline.

Other skills:  Employee must have attention to detail, strong active listening abilities, public speaking, Customer service, willingness to learn new things and written and verbal communication skills.  

Schedule:  Available some times between Monday - Thursday 10am - 3pm

Working conditions:  Employee may encounter heat or cold, noise or humidity while performing this job.  

Physical demands:  employee must be able to successfully utilize keyboarding, reaching, stooping and lifting/carrying up to 15 lbs.

Number of positions:  3-7

Hours per week:  7-10

Pay Rate:  $9.75/hr

Location:  Armington Learning Center, 4th floor, room # 450
