FWS - Div//Excl/Blg - Diversity Social Media Asst FWSDEBSOCMED - Fall/Spring 24/25

Responsibilities:  

1. Content Creation: Assist in creating and curating engaging and visually appealing content for the
various social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, X, Instagram, etc.) (C, T)
a. Requires on-the-job training through Marketing and Communication (CSD)
b. Act equitably with integrity and accountability to self, others, and the organization. (P)
c. Actively contribute to inclusive and equitable practices that influence individual and
systemic change. (EI)
2. Social Media Management: In collaboration with Director, monitor and manage the
department’s social media accounts (C, TW, L, P)
a. Maintain a positive personal brand in alignment with organization and personal career
values. (P)
b. Ask appropriate questions for specific information from supervisors, specialists, and
others. (C)
3. Social Media Calendar: Help maintain a content calendar to plan and schedule posts, ensuring a
consistent and cohesive online presence (C, CT, P, T)
a. Plan, initiate, manage, complete, and evaluate projects. (L)
4. Analytics: Use social media analytics tools to track engagement, reach, and other relevant
metrics to assess the effectiveness of social media campaigns and suggest improvements. (T, L,
CT)
5. Photography and Video: Capture and edit photos and videos to create engaging multimedia
content for social media posts. (C, EI)
6. Collaboration: Collaborate with various university departments, student organizations, and
campus partners to promote events and initiatives on social media (C, EI, L, TW, P)
a. Frame communication with respect to diversity of learning styles, varied individual
communication abilities, and cultural differences. (C)
b. Advocate for inclusion, equitable practices, justice, and empowerment for historically
marginalized communities. (EI)
7. Demonstrate dependability (e.g., report consistently for work or meetings). (P)

Pay Rate:  $8.75/hr
