FWS - Student Affairs - Stdnt Affrs Office Assistant FWSSTAFOFFAST - Fall/Spring 24/25

  • Receptionist Duties:
    • Answer incoming calls for the main office line and provide courteous assistance to callers (C, P)
    • Greet and assist office visitors in a welcoming manner (C, P, CSD)
    • Take telephone messages when necessary and promptly deliver them to the appropriate staff member (C,P, TW)
    • Assist Students with scheduling meetings with on behalf of Division of Student Affairs staff members (C, TW, CT)
    • Promote upcoming events to students and visitors at the front desk (T, C)
    • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for campus information, assisting with inquiries about campus services, events, and resources (C, TW, CSD, CT)
  • Administrative Support:
    • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite to create, update documents, and maintain organized files (T, TW, C)
    • Prepare file labels and assist in spreadsheet creation using Excel, including data entry tasks (T)
    • Handle photocopying tasks as required (T)
    • Share insights into campus life during Campus Tours from a student perspective (CT, C, TW)
    • Participate in special projects, collaborating with various departments to achieve project goals (C, TW, P, CSD, L)
    • Participant in Inspections of various areas, including Student Lounges, Residence Halls, and other public spaces on campus
  • Mail Services:
    • Retrieve, sort, and promptly distribute Division of Student Affairs mail (CT)
    • Notify respective staff members of important shipments or packages received from facilities via email or telephone (TW, C)
    • Facilitate the delivery and pickup of documents to and from other campus offices (TW)

Work Schedule: The priority work schedule is our open hours and during special events. Work hours can be flexible to accommodate the students' class schedule: • Saturday & Sunday: Closed • Monday-Friday: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Physical demands included here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: • Keyboarding, reaching/handling, stooping/kneeling, crouching/crawling, pushing up to 50 obs, Pulling up to 50 lbs, Lifting up to 50 lbs, Carrying up to 50 lbs

Number of Positions: 3-4     (approx 6-8 hours per employee) 

Work hours:  The following hours are needed to full by workers.  Applicant availability needs to cover some of these options:  M - W - F:  9am - 11am / Noon - 1pm / 2-5pm     Tuesday - Thursday:  Noon - 5pm

Pay Rate: 8.75
