FWS - Bio - BioMedSci Genetics Lab TA FWSGENETICLBTA- Fall/Spring 24/25

Responsibilities:

    • Attend all scheduled lab sessions (P).
    • Assist in preparing and setting up laboratory experiments (W Th).
    • Aid in the delivery of course content, including facilitating discussions and answering student questions (C CT)
    • Provide constructive feedback to students to enhance their learning experience (C P).
    • Assisting with the preparation of lecture and lab materials and presentations (T TW).
    • Grading exams, quizzes, and assignments in a timely manner (P CT).
    • Holding regular office hours to provide additional help and support to students (C P EI).
    • Facilitating and encouraging discussions to enhance student engagement (C L).
    • Contributing to the development and updating of course materials (CT T).
    • Providing feedback to students on their performance and helping them understand complex genetic concepts (C CT).
    • Offer one-on-one or group tutoring sessions to help students understand course material (C CT EI).

Student will interact with faculty, staff, and other departments.

Work Schedule:  Depending on their class schedule, the students will be working   on weekdays and only the occasional weekend if there is a time-sensitive project to be completed.  Tuesday through Friday time may vary according to workload and specifically needed Wednesday 1 -4pm and Thursday 1-4pm

Work Conditions: Employee encounters while performing essential functions of the job:  

Physical Demands:  Keyboarding, Reaching, Lifting and Carrying up to 20 lbs

Number of Positions: 1

Hours Per Week:  10-12

Pay Rate: $10.50/hr
