Graduate Assistant - Women's Bowling

University of Pikeville (UPIKE), the Leading University in Central Appalachia, is actively seeking candidates for a Graduate Assistant Coach for our Women's Bowling program. Candidates must have a commitment to upholding the academic and athletic mission of the College. This position will provide assistance and support to the Head Women's Bowling Coach and the Women's Bowling program. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the recruitment process of student athletes.
  • Participate in coaches meetings for practice prep and tournaments.
  • Assist with practices and tournaments for the women’s bowling team.
  • Assist in all community service planning and implementation.
  • Assist with fundraising for the team’s budget and facilities.
  • Assist with all aspects of bowling operations including but not limited to (travel, purchasing including gear and equipment).
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Drive University vehicles (when necessary).

Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree and be accepted into graduate program at UPIKE.
  • Athletic background is preferred.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate with all members of the College community.
  • Must be familiar with conducting research online.
  • Must have experience working with office equipment, e.g. computer, printer, and copier.
  • Must be familiar in Microsoft Office, particularly with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to perform simple calculations.
  • Must be familiar with creating online travel arrangements.

**Graduate Assistants receive tuition waivers of up to 6 hours of classes per semester, housing & a meal plan. However, if the GA does not reside on campus, then he/she will receive a monthly stipend in lieu of room & board. The meal plan covers the actual number of weeks that classes are in session during the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
