Audio/Visual Coordinator

The University of Pikeville is currently seeking a qualified Audio/Visual Coordinator who configures, operates, and troubleshoots all audio equipment used in the execution of events. This includes audio equipment connection, sound board setup/configuration, sound checks and other testing, and sound board operation during events, rehearsal(s) and production of all campus events and external events.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Arrive prior to the scheduled event/activity time and begin review of event schedule and other information related to the event.
  2. Evaluate the status of the sound board and reconfigure as needed.
  3. Check, replace batteries in, and distribute wireless microphones and other equipment as needed to equip band members, vocalists, speakers, etc.
  4. Coordinate and direct sound checks with events and others involved in the production to ensure equipment is functioning properly and that proper sound levels and sound mix is obtained.
  5. Coordinate with other event team members to produce the event as planned.
  6. Assume a leadership presence, maintain professional appearance, energetic attitude and serve as a positive University representative.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain, inventory, and properly clean all sound equipment, utilizing best practices.
  2. Store all sound equipment not in use appropriately in designated storage areas.

Relationships:

Position requires positive and productive daily contact with UPIKE faculty, staff, students, parents, alumni, and community.

Relationships are maintained through various modes of communication including, but not limited to, email, telephone, written, and person-to-person contact.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize and multitask efficiently.
  • Nights and weekends required.
