Maintenance Aide

The University of Pikeville is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Maintenance Aide I. The position is a general mechanical position to aid in the maintenance and repair of the University of Pikeville campus by performing the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in campus-wide repairs and maintenance. Repairs may involve carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, etc.
  2. Provide both repairs and preventative maintenance in order to maintain the infrastructure of the buildings of the University of Pikeville.
  3. Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of campus grounds, including painting, pressure washing, etc.
  4. Provide support for events held on campus by clubs, organizations, and committees.
  5. Aid in waste management throughout campus.
  6. Assist in the maintenance of the University of Pikeville’s transportation fleet after use by faculty and staff as needed, as well as for delivery purposes.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

Relationships:

Position requires daily continuous contact with co-workers, supervisor, staff, and students in order to communicate the needs of the campus and efficiently perform maintenance. These relationships are maintained through person-to-person contact or work orders given by the supervisor.

Education/Skill Requirements:

  • Some vocational/technical school is required.
  • Requires 3-5 years of experience with general mechanical work.
  • Must have experience working with mechanical machinery, e.g. pressure washer, welder, auger, chainsaw, cutting torch, and power tools.
